Hastings resident, Wayne K. Long, 68, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska.
Memorial Services will be Saturday, September 16, 2017; 8:30 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Chaplain John Mueller officiating. Burial will be held at a later date. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established. Book signing will be Friday, September 15, 2017; 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Wayne was born May 24, 1949, in Philip, South Dakota to Leroy & Esther (Clawson) Long. He graduated in 1967 from Philip High School and attended the University of South Dakota. Wayne married Kathy Forbush on July 10, 1970, in Philip, South Dakota.
Wayne was employed as a new and used car salesman for Great Plains Chrysler in Hastings until his retirement in 2016. He was a member of the Elks Club. Wayne loved to spend time with his grandchildren, and go for long drives listening to Nebraska football games with Kathy. Win or lose he was a faithful Nebraska fan. He also loved his morning coffee with the guys and talking about old cars.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Fred Long.
