Wayne Niemeyer

Hastings resident, Wayne J. Niemeyer, 75, of 631 So. Bellevue, died Monday, June 24, 2002 at Beverly Healthcare Park Place, Grand Island, Nebraska.

Services will be Thursday, June 27, 2002; 11:00 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Harold D. Stromer officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Blue Hill Cemetery, Blue Hill, Nebraska.

Wayne J. Niemeyer was born November 22, 1926 in Webster County, Nebraska to Chris & Hazel (Gerloff) Niemeyer. He enlisted in the Merchant Marines on August 26, 1943 until August 28, 1944. He then served in the Army Transportation Corp from November 25, 1944 until July 14, 1945. He owned and operated a swimming pool supply and repair company before serving in the United States Air Force, retiring December 10, 1976. He then worked for Leslie's Pool Supply in Modesto, California before moving to Hastings, Nebraska in 1989. He purchased homes for rentals.

Wayne. J. Niemeyer was preceded in death by his parents.
