Hastings resident Wayne William Timm, 88, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, NE.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 22, at First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hastings with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. with the family present 5-7 p.m. Friday, March 21, at the funeral home, and one hour before the service at the church. Memorials may be given to First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. The service will be live-streamed on Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home’s website. Wayne was born on March 15, 1937, in Holstein, NE to William and Ethel (Keedle) Timm. He married Janice Trine in 1956 in Hastings; she preceded him in death on May 17, 2020. Wayne married Judy Christoffersen on March 25, 2021.
Wayne worked as a mechanic at Kenesaw Motors and Hastings Diesel. He then started up Timm’s Repair and Timm’s Body Shop in Roseland, and Timm’s Service in Bladen. After moving to Hastings, he sold the businesses to his sons. He then opened Timm’s Auto Sales. After retirement, he helped out at Centaur Enterprises, worked at multiple car washes in Hastings, and lastly could be found at Central Truck & Irrigation. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing at Harlan County Reservoir, hunting for deer, going to the races, and working on race cars. He loved taking his dogs out for daily walks. Wayne was a member of First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Janice Timm; brothers, Vern Timm Sr. and Gene Timm; sisters, Harriett Sumstine, Marilyn Henry, and Shirley Ferguson; and grandson, William Timm.
