Wendell L. Salisbury, 71, of 1215 Pleasant St. died Saturday, December 8, 2001 at his home.
Rosary will be Tuesday, December 11, 2001; 7:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Father James Meysenburg officiating. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, December 12, 2001; 10:00 A.M. at St Cecilia's Catholic Church, both in Hastings, Nebraska. Burial with military rites will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.
Wendell L. Salisbury, was born March 5, 1930 in Gordon, Nebraska to Vern & Edna (Gay) Salisbury. He graduated from Gordon High School and entered the United States Navy in 1951. He served aboard the Destroyer U.S.S. Radford for 2 years and then the Destroyer Escort U.S.S. Currier for 2 years. On January 2, 1954, he married Noreen Roffers, of Rushville, Nebraska in San Diego, California. In the fall of 1955, he moved to Milford, Nebraska and completed carpentry and cabinetry trade school. After graduation, he moved to Hastings Nebraska where he worked for Dick Looye Construction for 10 years. In 1977, he owned and operated Wendell's Construction until retiring in 1993. He was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and served on the Board of Adjustments for the City of Hastings.
Wendell L. Salisbury, was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers, Kenneth Salisbury and Ivyl Salisbury.
