Wilford Alber

Hastings resident, Wilford A. "Bill" Alber, 89, died Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Services will be Saturday, November 4, 2006; 10:00 A.M. at Peace Lutheran Church, Hastings, Nebraska with Pastor Paul Dunbar officiating. Burial will be in Blue Hill Cemetery, Blue Hill, Nebraska. Memorials to Peace Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Friday, November 3, 2006; 11:00 AM- 9PM with family present from 6PM-8PM at the funeral home and Saturday, November 4, 2006; 1 hr. prior to service at the church.

Mr. Alber was born June 5, 1917 to Albert & Louise (Jahnke) Alber near Lawrence, Nebraska. He married Lois Sexton of Cambridge, Nebraska on June 7, 1941. He farmed near Blue Hill from 1940 until retirement when he moved to Hastings in 1989. He was a long time member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Rosemont where he served on several church boards. He was an active member at Peace Lutheran after moving to Hastings.

Mr. Alber was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and three sisters.
