Hastings resident Willard D. 'Bill' Oltman, 75 of Edgewood Vista, died Sunday, September 14, 2008.
Services will be Thursday, September 18, 2008; 2:00 P.M. at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Robert S. Smith officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 16, 2008, 5:00 P.M.-9:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 17, 2008; 9:00 A.M.- 9:00 P.M., Thursday, September 18, 2008; 9:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home and 1 hr. prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to Waco Lutheran High School or National Federation of the Blind/Nebraska.
Mr. Oltman was born May 23, 1933 in Blue Hill, Nebraska to Carl & Margaret M. (Kort) Oltman. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War from May 5, 1953 until April 29, 1955. He worked for Western-Land Roller for 29 years before he retired. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church since 1950. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. He enjoyed sharing activities with his nieces and nephews. He spent time hunting and fishing with his nephews. With his nieces, he enjoyed taking them skiing and traveling.
Mr. Oltman was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Doran.
