William Aukerman

February 4, 1927 — August 27, 2004

Hastings resident, William L. 'Roy' Aukerman, 77, of 1118 W. 8th St., died Friday, August 27, 2004 at Perkins Pavilion.

Services will be Tuesday, August 31, 2004; 10:00 A.M. at Peace Lutheran Church, with Rev. Donald E. Boeschen officiating. Burial with military rites by Fort Riley Honor Guard, Fort Riley, Kansas will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Aukerman was born February 4, 1927 in Omaha, Nebraska to Howard & Laura (Nowack) Aukerman. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1945. He served in the United States Navy from1945 until his discharge in1946. On February 16, 1947, he married Garnet Buss in Blue Hill, Nebraska. He was a manger for Ashton Wholesale for 28 years and worked for Chief Ethanol Plant for 8 years, retiring in 1991. He was a charter member of Peace Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the American Legion, V.F.W., Eagles and Chorus of the Plains Barbershop.

Mr. Aukerman was preceded in death by his parents.
