William Dixon, Jr

Hastings resident, William Dean Dixon, Jr., 57, passed away Friday, February 20, 2015 in Santa Maria, California, in a motor vehicle accident.

Memorial service will be Saturday, February 28, 2015; 2:00 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel with Rev. Dr. Lee R. Wigert officiating. Private burial will be in Parkview Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be given to the William Dean Dixon, Jr. Memorial Fund. Book signing will be Thursday and Friday 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Book signing with family present will be Saturday 1:00 P. M. until service at the funeral home.

Willy was born May 11, 1957 in Hastings, Nebraska to William Dean Dixon, Sr. & Shirley M. (May) Dixon. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1975. Willy was a musician with many bands, including Stillwater, Kick, Gold Rush, Victor Skitz, and Sam West. He compiled an anthology of Tommy Bolin's songs recorded through Geffen Records. Willy worked for the Missoulian newspaper and Good Music Agency in Missoula, Montana. He owned pet stores in Hastings including the Upstairs Aquarium, worked for PetSmart in Montana, worked in Hoyt Axton's recording studio, and Lambriar, Inc. in Kansas. Willy was a member of Grace United Church, AA and was an Eagle Scout.

Willy was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Eugene Dixon.
