Former Hastings resident and longtime resident of Gladewater, Texas, William O. Hale, 86, passed away Monday, May 9, 2016 at Hawkins Creek Assisted Living, Longview, Texas.
Services will be Tuesday, May 17, 2016; 10:30 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Rev. Dr. Samuel R. Rathod officiating. Burial with military rites by the Hastings Veterans Organizations will be in Parkview Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, May 16, 2016; 1:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. with family present from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. and one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association or the First United Methodist Church.
Bill was born in Beatrice, Nebraska and grew up in the Beatrice and Reynolds area until moving to St. Paul, Nebraska. He served in the U.S. Army 79th Corp of Engineers during the Korean War. Bill married Gloria Jones, of Hastings, in 1953 and they were married for 49 years. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church and the VFW. Bill worked as a brick mason until he retired in 1992.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, George & Juanita Flagle and his wife, Gloria.
