William Heil

Hastings resident, William "Bill" J. Heil, 64, passed away Monday, December 22, 2014 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Saturday, December 27, 2014; 10:30 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Rev. Dr. Lee R. Wigert officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to the family. Visitation will be Friday, December 26, 2014; 9:00 A.M. - 8:00 P.M. with family present 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M., and one hour prior to service at the funeral home.

Bill was born March 5, 1950 in Superior, Nebraska to George & Helen (Schiermeyer) Heil. He attended and graduated from Lawrence Schools. Bill started working at Werner Construction Company and enlisted in the U.S. Army on July 23, 1969. He served his country during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in May 1971. Bill married Jocelyne "Jo" Lamborn on August 5, 1978 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Lawrence, Nebraska. The couple lived in Hastings and he worked in the concrete construction business for his rest of his life. Bill enjoyed hunting deer, demo derby driving, fixing and collecting old Pontiac cars. He was a hard worker and was always busy doing something. His favorite saying was "I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you".

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, George & Helen; and infant granddaughter, Zendaya Heil.
