William "Bill" Ruby

Hastings resident William A. “Bill” Ruby, 73, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2018, at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, NE.

Services are 10 a.m. Friday, September 28, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Chaplain John Mueller officiating. Burial with military rites is 3 p.m. Friday, September 28, at Maywood Cemetery, Maywood, NE. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. Visitation will be Thursday 6-8 p.m. with family present, and one hour prior to service at the funeral home.

Bill was born March 13, 1945, in Danbury, NE to William “Wesley” & Eunice (Yarnell) Ruby. He served with the U.S. Army and Nebraska National Guard for 35 years. Bill married Ruth L. “Tiny” Littell on March 19, 1971; she preceded him in death on November 24, 2005. They were married for 34 years. Bill was employed by A1 Fiberglass and retired from the U.S. Army.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; wife, “Tiny” Ruby; and many others.
