Former rural Ayr resident, Wilma Ruth Fricke, 99. of Perkins Pavilion, died Saturday, December 16, 2006 at Perkins Pavilion.
Private family burial will be Thursday, December 21, 2006 at Parkview Cemetery with Dr. Rev. William G. Nottage-Tacey officiating. Memorials to First Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 20, 2006; 9am-9pm with family present from 6pm-8pm.
Mrs. Fricke was born July 7, 1907 in Lincoln, Nebraska to William R. & Helen (Peebles) Wilson. She graduated from Ayr High School in 1924 and attended University of Nebraska in Lincoln and also Hastings College, where she received her teaching certification. She married Alfred Earnest Fricke on May 26, 1927 and he preceded her in death in 1957. She was an elementary school teacher for 30 years in Adams County, Nebraska, retiring in 1972. She lived on the farm with her husband and in 1957, was honored as the Tribland Farm Family of the year. She has been the longest member of First Presbyterian Church (90 years). She was also a member of Presbyterian Women's Society and a past Adams County 4-H leader.
Mrs. Fricke was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Alfred, two daughters-in-law, Jacqueline Fricke & Twila Fricke, and a half brother, Leslie Wilson.
