Hastings resident, Wilma I. Pederson, 92, of 906 E. 6th St. died Monday, January 6, 2003 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.
Services will be Saturday, January 11, 2003; 11:00 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. John L. Ross officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.
Wilma I. Pederson was born March 4, 1910 in Gayville, South Dakota to James C. & Grace (Benthin) Clark. She graduated from Vermillion High School, Vermillion, South Dakota. On August 1939, she married Delmar 'Pete' Pederson in Sioux City, Iowa. They lived in several communities until moving to Hastings, Nebraska in 1945. They established Cash-Way Candy Company in 1945 and later expanded the business to Grand Island, Nebraska. They also opened York Wholesale in York, Nebraska. She served as the corporate secretary/treasurer until the death of her husband in 1997. She was a past member of the Nebraska Heart Association.
Wilma I. Pederson was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Pete, 1 daughter, Sally Wanek, 2 grandchildren, Michael Baker & Rebecca Pederson and a sister, Twila Harrington.
