Wilma Purcell

December 12, 1916 — May 5, 2004

Former Hastings resident, Wilma K. Purcell, 87, of Blue Hill Care Home, Blue Hill, Nebraska, died Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at Blue Hill Care Home.

Services will be Monday, May 10, 2004; 2:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, both in Hastings, Nebraska.

Mrs. Purcell was born December 12, 1916 in Washington County, Kansas to James & Edith (Smith) Howe. She married Vernon W. Purcell on May 14, 1936 in Pawnee City, Nebraska and he preceded her in death on October 28, 2003. They moved to Hastings, Nebraska in 1958 and she worked as a seamstress for Mode O'Day for 18 years. They moved to Kansas in 1976 and back to Hastings in 1990.

Mrs. Purcell was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Vernon, one son, Jim, a granddaughter, Denise and two grandsons, Randy and Craig.
