Hastings resident, Zachary Lafe Anderson, 21, of 1500 Heritage Dr., died Monday, July 31, 2006 in Holzweiler, Germany.
Services will be Monday, August 7, 2003; 2:00 P.M. at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Vistiation will be Sunday, August 6, 2006; 5pm-9pm & Monday, August 7, 2006; 9am-noon at Butler-Volland Funeral Home. Memorials to Zachary Lafe Anderson Scholarship & Memorial Fund
Mr. Anderson was born October 18, 1984 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Steven & Verona (Kniep) Anderson. He moved to Hastings with his family in 1996 and graduated from Hastings High School in 2003. He was a member of the soccer, basketball & tennis teams and of the Peer Mediators & Peer Helpers in high school. He would have been a senior at Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, Nebraska this fall where he was double majoring in Business Administration and German. He was a member of Zeta Psi Fraternity and served as Social Chair. He was also a member of The German Conversation Group. He recently completed a semester abroad at Dortmund University, Dortmund, Germany. He was also a member of First St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He was a sports enthusiast - Nebraska football & basketball, Stars hockey, Chicago Cub's Baseball and soccer. In June he fulfilled his dream of attending the World Cup Soccer Tournament in Germany.
