Zelma Ellerbee

Hastings resident, Zelma Pillers Ellerbee, 88, of Perkins Pavilion, died Monday, February 6, 2006 at Perkins Pavilion.

Services will be Friday, February 10, 2006; 11:00 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Mr. Ken Ellis officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, both in Hastings, Nebraska.

Mrs. Ellerbee was born January 6, 1918 in Wheeler County, Texas to Melvin Allen & Willie Hazel (Clay) Pillers. She graduated from Shamrock High School, Shamrock, Texas in 1935. She married Morris B. 'Buck' Ellerbee on May 30, 1936 in Sayre, Oklahoma. They were married for almost 70 years. They lived in Twitty, Texas for four years and then moved to Amarillo, Texas. In 1954, they moved to Hastings, Nebraska and eventually became owners of Abbott's Dairy. She resided in Hastings until her death. She was active in the League of Women Voters and P.T.A., in which she was awarded a life time membership for her involvement. She was very active in the Church of Christ for 65 years. She was well known as an exceptional homemaker and cook.

Mrs. Ellerbee was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Michael B. Ellerbee and two brothers, Elmer & Claude Pillers.

Son & Daughter-in-law: E. Don & Karen Ellerbee - Lincoln, NE
Daughter & Son-in-law: G. Anne & Jim Kimmel - Franklin, TN
7 Grandchildren
10 Great Grandchildren
Brother: Morris Pillers - Tucson, AZ

The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Perkins Pavilion for the purchase of furniture for resident rooms or Mike Ellerbee Hastings Midget Football Fund.

VISITATION: Thur. 2-9-06; 9am-9pm with family present 6pm-8pm
Fri. 2-10-06; 9am until service time
